Forged Steel Shaft
TINVO’s forged shafts are in an assortment of geometries and a wide range of materials. high stress, impact strength, long fatigue life and hi-temperatures.
Introduction
TINVO forged shafts have many industrial applications such as pump shafts, valve stems, cylinder rods, eye bolts, studs, forged rotor shafts, input/output shafts and rolls. TINVO forged shafts have many Industrial transmission and power transmission systems such as pump shafts, valve stems, cylinder rods, eye bolts, studs, forged rotor shafts, input/output shafts and rolls. In rolling mill configurations, the HSS roll set is frequently supported by heavy-duty forged spindle shafts that transmit torque from drive motors to roll stands.Forged steel shafts are used in any application that endures high stress, impact strength, long fatigue life and high temperatures. Forged shafts have economical and quality advantages opposed to machining shafts from bar stock. A shaft can be forged to near net shape with varying geometries saving on material cost and machining time. Additionally, a shaft forging to near net shape will benefit from the forging process and have a grain flow following the forged configuration of the shaft thereby yielding outstanding grain structure and the best combination of mechanical properties.
Application Scenario Descriptions
TINVO forged steel shafts serve three primary application categories:
Rolling Mill Main Spindles — Connecting the drive motor to the roll stand, these shafts transmit high torque at variable speeds. 42CrMo and 46CrNiMo6 grades are preferred for their fatigue resistance and heat tolerance. Typical shaft lengths range from 1,200mm to 3,500mm, with journals up to 200mm diameter. Connecting the drive motor to the roll stand, these shafts transmit high torque at variable speeds. The roll ring and its supporting spindle assembly form the core power transmission loop in finishing and roughing stands. 42CrMo and 46CrNiMo6 grades are preferred for their fatigue resistance and heat tolerance.
Gearbox Drive Shafts — Found in reducer and transmission assemblies, these shafts operate under sustained torsional and bending loads. 34CrNiMo6 is the standard grade due to its superior core toughness and fatigue performance in high-cycle loading.
Marine Propulsion Shafts — Transmitting power from the engine to the propeller, these shafts must meet marine classification standards (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s). 34CrNiMo6 with ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI) certification is standard for this application.

Superior Strength and Durability with Custom Forged Steel Shafts
When your application involves high torque, heavy loads, and continuous operation, forged steel shafts offer a level of structural integrity that cast parts or bar stock cannot match. TINVO specializes in manufacturing high-quality forged shafts, utilizing controlled forging processes to refine the grain structure and ensure maximum resistance to fatigue and impact.
Enhanced Grain Flow: Our forging process aligns the internal grain flow of the steel with the geometry of the shaft. This results in superior directional strength and significantly reduces the risk of structural failure under extreme operational stress.
Premium Material Selection: We work with a wide range of high-grade carbon and alloy steels, including 42CrMo4 (AISI 4140), 40Cr, 20CrNiMo, and Stainless Steel. Every batch is verified for chemical composition and mechanical properties.
Precision Machining & Finishing: Beyond the forging press, our facility provides full-service CNC turning, milling, and grinding. We achieve tight dimensional tolerances and superior surface finishes (Ra 0.8 or better) to meet your exact assembly requirements.
Custom Heat Treatment: To optimize performance, we offer specialized heat treatments such as Quenching & Tempering (Q&T), Normalizing, and Surface Induction Hardening, ensuring the perfect balance between core toughness and surface hardness.
Rigorous Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Safety is paramount. Every forged drive shaft can undergo Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Dye Penetrant Testing to ensure a 100% defect-free internal structure.
