High-Cr Composite Spin Cast Iron Roll
The high chrome cast iron roll is a centrifugal cast roll being made of chromium-containing wear-resistant high-chromium white cast iron as the outer layer material of the roll body. the ductile iron is generally used as the material of roll core and the roll neck. The high alloy composite cast roll produced by the centrifugal composite casting process is used.
Introduction
The high chrome cast iron roll is a centrifugal cast roll being made of chromium-containing wear-resistant high-chromium white cast iron as the outer layer material of the roll body. the ductile iron is generally used as the material of roll core and the roll neck. The high alloy composite cast roll produced by the centrifugal composite casting process is used. Due to the presence of lath-shaped M7c3, eutectic carbide, chrysanthemum M2c eutectic carbide and granular M23C6 secondary carbide in the matrix, the high chromium composite cast iron roll has excellent wear resistance and high Resilience and impact resistance.
Application
It is widely used as the rough rolling and finishing rolling work rolls in the hot strip rolling mill, the wide and medium plate rolling mill. as well as the finishing rolling work rolls in the small section steel and sheet rolling mill.
Microstructure Mastery
Superior Wear Life: Our High Cr rolls feature a high volume fraction of primary M7c3 carbides (hardness up to 1500-1800 HV). This microstructure ensures that the roll maintains a smooth surface profile even under high-temperature oxidation and abrasive wear conditions.
The Spin Casting Edge
Using advanced vertical or horizontal Spin Casting (Centrifugal Casting) technology, we ensure a perfect metallurgical bond between the high-alloy shell and the ductile iron core. This eliminates the risk of shell-core separation even under massive rolling pressure.
Thermal & Oxidation Resistance
The high chromium content (12% – 20%) forms a protective oxide film on the roll surface during hot rolling, significantly reducing ‘fire-cracking’ and improving the surface finish of the rolled steel.
